This term our topic is 'All About Me.' Part of this topic is getting to know about each other, our families, and the environment we live in. For our Big Bang children shared their 'all about me bag' talking about the items they had brought in and why it was special to them. Children then had the opportunity to ask each other questions.
Neverland’s Big Bang
Neverland’s topic is focused on geography this term and they are exploring the question “How does Grantham compare to Caythorpe?”
To start off their topic the children explored Caythorpe. They looked at what buildings and land areas Caythorpe has and what they are used for.
Narnia’s Big Bang
Narnia’s topic is focused on geography this term and they are exploring the question “How is the land used in Caythorpe now and how was it used in the past?”
The children found out that Holy Cross Gardens used to have one large house, but the land is now a residential area. The children will explore why street names are important in Caythorpe, what land areas used to be used for, what they are used for now and why these changes were made in Caythorpe. The children all agreed the play park is a very good use of land within Caythorpe.
Hogwarts Big Bang
Hogwarts took part in a range of investigations and building projects to begin our topic about weather and climate zones. They created tornadoes and clouds in jars as well as building their own windmills and anemometers. They were brilliant in using their problems solving and teamwork skills.
