Egyptian Explorers
Narnia’s Big Bang was linked to their Egyptian topic “What have we learnt from the Ancient Egyptians?” The children engaged in a range of activities and workshops.
The children looked at Egyptian masks and coffins and created their own for an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh. The children also enjoyed the opportunity to make Egyptian flat bread. Lots of good reviews of how it tasted too!
" I liked making the masks and I tried to make a snake head dress for an Egyptian pharaoh,” said Isla. Henry said, "I liked getting messy when we made the Egyptian bread because it stuck to my hands."
Freya enjoyed the designing of the face mask and coffins and the bread because it was fun.
The children will go on to learn about the process of mummification, Ancient Egyptian beliefs and Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
