This week Caythorpe joined the thousands of schools who have signed up to deliver their own Speak out Stay safe assembly, to help children understand the different types of abuse and empower them to speak out if they need to.
Each class held their own assembly introduced by Ant and Dec. The assemblies complimented our PSHE curriculum on relationships and feel supported to tackle any difficult topics.
Children in Hogwarts also took part in a workshop ‘Stay safe. Speak out.’ Catherine and Allison from the NSPCC led the workshop.
They explored worries the children might have and the trusted adults they may be able to speak with if they are worried. They were also reminded about the telephone and online of service of Child line (0800 1111).
The children were thoughtful, and they engaged very well throughout. They had opportunities to think individually and have group discussions. It was an extremely beneficial way to help the children understand how to stay safe.
Catherine and Allison complimented the class on their behaviour and thoughtful responses to their questions. Well done, Hogwarts, you were great ambassadors for the school.
