Narnia Adventures at PGL
Children in Narnia class, year 3 and 4, were PGL pioneers on Monday and Tuesday. We were lucky enough to be a nominated school by Mr Mountain for the chance to be the first to experience PGL’s NEW 'Pioneers' programme, free of charge! It was an offer too good to miss. At Caythorpe, we have always prided ourselves on the enriching experiences we offer our pupils.
We arrived at 9.15am on Monday morning and were met by Mr Knight, Miss Binns and Mrs Hunt, who accompanied the trip. We were greeted by Alfie, our PGL host for the two days.
The class worked in two groups for the activities. The talented leaders at PGL carefully demonstrated and talked the children though each of the activities. These included zip wire, climbing wall and archery all in the first day! The children were certainly ready for their meals, pizza and wedges was a popular choice for lunch and chicken nuggets, rice and sauce in the evening. The chocolate fudge cake was a winner! In the evening, the children took part in a robot wars challenge.
On Tuesday, the children played aeroball. The challenge of the visit was “survivor!” Den building and bushcraft. Lighting a fire takes great perseverance. The children demonstrated our school values of determination, pride, enjoyment, teamwork, honesty, understanding and friendship throughout the visit.
