Let’s Dance!

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming a Dance Workshop for each class led by Katie from Dance Days Limited.

Enchanted Forest took part in the Bollywood dance workshop. Katie taught the children small steps building to a sequence. At the end the class completed a routine to traditional music from India. Tom said “I liked the dancing!” Arlo liked the “carry the chicken move” in particular. Olivia -Rose preferred the butterfly move.

Neverland took part in a Pop/Street Dance workshop. The class began by listening to the beat in the music and then added in the dance movements. The children picked up the moves with impressive speed and all of the children were attentive to the Katie and engaged in the session with lots of enthusiasm!

Narnia went to the musicals! The music for their dance was “Circle of Life” from The Lion King. The children chose an African animal each celebrating the circle of life. The children created movements for their animal each then being crafted into a dance routine. The children said it was fun and enjoyable and Miss Houlden said she could see how much they loved the workshop from their faces.

It's all thanks to Mr Murphy, who invited the workshop as part of Hogwart's Big Bang event. Year 5 and 6 created a carnival complete with carnival masks!
